Honeymooning in Rarotonga at Little Polynesian Resort

Posted on February 12, 2018

Golden sands, beachfront bungalows, lagoon views, award-winning service and ultimate privacy. Sounds like the perfect honeymoon already, but that’s just the beginning when it comes to the honeymoon experience at the Little Polynesian Resort in Rarotonga.

Our rooms

You can’t look past the luxurious Beachfront Bungalows at the Little Polynesian Resort as the ideal abode for your romantic dream honeymoon in the Pacific Islands. These contemporary Polynesian-styled bungalows are beautiful and sophisticated. With elegant high ceilings, rustic timber beams, polished floors, glorious mahogany and traditional Cook Island carvings, you’ll have the perfect mix of comfort, culture and style. From your king bed you’ll also have uninterrupted views of the everlasting turquoise lagoon. On the lower level lounge area you’ll find a day bed, entertainment system and small settee to enjoy a tropical cocktail or two. The privately screened deck area means the memories will be yours and yours alone.

The luxury bathroom is the icing on the cake and has had no expense spared. As well as the his & hers vanity, you’ll have a luxurious shower opening out to a private courtyard with an additional outdoor shower, should you so please. It’s our way of making sure you’re relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated during your stay.

Romantic dining for two

A honeymoon is about unforgettable experiences and you can’t create a much more memorable experience than a romantic candlelit dinner for two on a pristine golden sand beach. With white linen laid, a bottle of bubbles on ice, flame torches and a floral centrepiece you’ll be surrounded by a decor of intimacy and splendour. The À la Carte menu offers sumptuous island specialties showcasing the best of the local cuisine. During the day you’ll also be able to enjoy open air dining at the Little Polynesian Restaurant next to our salt water infinity pool with spectacular views of the Titikaveka lagoon. Tropically inspiring.

Things to do

In between the pamper and relaxation, you’ll find no shortage of things to do during your honeymoon in Rarotonga, many of which are walking distance from the Little Polynesian Resort. A popular starting point is the marine protected lagoon that offers swimming at all hours of the day, as well as snorkelling where you can experience the abundant variety of colourful marine life. Also just a 3 minute walk away you’ll find the marvellous Maire Nui Gardens, Rarotonga’s only botanical gardens with 7 acres of lush tropical flowers, plants and vegetation. A short drive away, is the spectacular Wigmore’s Waterfall (also known as Papua Waterfall), a great place to cool down and take another dip. For something a bit different after that, you might consider a tour of the Matutu Brewery, a short 15 minute stroll from the resort.

The must-do attraction in Rarotonga however, is arguably the Te Vara Nui Village show. Featuring the largest cultural dance group on the island, the show both entertains and educates its audience on Cook Islands history and traditions. In an atmosphere surrounded by graceful island dancers, talented musicians and fire throwers, you’ll be completely immersed in the cultural extravaganza.
