With a marine protected lagoon that offers swimming at all hours of the day, the lagoon is perfect for splashing about and snorkelling. A short walk down the beach will take you to the popular “Fruits of Rarotonga,” well known as one of the best spots on the island for snorkelling, where you will experience an abundant variety of colourful marine life.
Should you wish to venture out of the resort for a bite to eat, you will find there is a handful of great local café’s located nearby. Don’t forget to try the traditional Cook Island dish Ika Mata, a delicious marinated raw fish salad.
Life runs at a slower pace on Rarotonga. As a result, visitors can take the time to enjoy marvelous sites such as the Maire Nui Gardens. Only a short three minute walk from the resort, you can enjoy a stroll through 7 acres of lush tropical flowers, plants and vegetation at Rarotonga’s only botanical gardens.
At your convenience is Wigmore’s Store, located a short drive away. This is also where the nearest petrol station is located for you to refill your rental car or scooters.
Not too far from Wigmore’s you will find Wigmore’s Waterfall, also known as the Papua Waterfall. A swim in the waterfall is a refreshing way to cool down while you admire the natural surroundings. Don’t forget to pack a towel and your mosquito repellent!
