Kitesurfing in Rarotonga & Aitutaki
Warm, clear lagoon waters and steady easterly trade winds make Rarotonga and Aitutaki popular destinations for kitesurfing, with conditions suited to beginners through to experienced riders. The main trade-wind season runs from May to October, with winds typically ranging from 15 to 30 knots. In Aitutaki, the open lagoon and shallow sandbars provide excellent conditions for learning and progressing, with Tavake Island sandbar offering a particularly suitable setting.
