Origins of Pacific Resort Cook Islands Properties
Inspired by the natural beauty of Muri Beach, Pacific Resort Cook Islands framed and constructed its first building in 1986. The resort showcased its prime beachfront location and welcomed its first guests in November 1987 as Pacific Resort Rarotonga.
The original property featured 34 units, a swimming pool, the Barefoot Bar, and a small office. Additionally, two hotel-style blocks each housed eight rooms, and 18 duplex units were near the beachfront and Barefoot Bar. Between 1988 and 1998, Pacific Resort Cook Islands expanded with Lagoon and Beachfront Villas, Garden Suites, and Garden Villas. The pool, lobby, and Sandals Restaurant also received upgrades. Later, the iconic Beachfront Suites joined the resort to highlight the beauty of Muri Lagoon.
Expansion of Pacific Resort Cook Islands Across the Islands
In 2002, Pacific Resort Cook Islands opened Pacific Resort Aitutaki on the stunning island of Aitutaki. Inspired by traditional Cook Islands designs, each room features a private sundeck where guests can enjoy intimate lagoon views with a cocktail in hand.
In 2007, PRHG introduced Te Manava Luxury Villas with five luxurious villas on Muri Lagoon’s white sands. Since then, the property has grown to 14 villas, offering privacy, independence, and luxury to guests who seek it.
In 2016, PRHG added Little Polynesian Resort to its collection. Similarly, the resort blends traditional Cook Islands architecture with its natural surroundings while celebrating local culture and heritage.
