Underwater Adventures Await

We would like to share some exciting adventures to include on your next visit. This month, we’re highlighting the unseen beauty beneath the surface, as much of the Cook Islands’ magic lies underwater. The outer reef surrounding Rarotonga remains one of the best-kept secrets of the diving community.

You’ll encounter a fascinating mix of marine life. Whales, hammerhead sharks, grey and white tip reef sharks, green and hawksbill turtles, and even game fish glide through the waters. Colourful tropical reef fish, unique local species, and the occasional whale shark add to the wonder, making every dive a photographer’s dream.

Both novice and experienced divers enjoy endless opportunities for underwater photography. Subjects range from tiny marine creatures to majestic giants. Most divers find that a 3mm short wetsuit provides enough protection during cooler months. In summer, many prefer the freedom of diving in just a swimsuit.

Convenience is another highlight. All dive locations sit within a 15-minute boat ride from the launch site. On Rarotonga, several dive companies offer daily trips and internationally recognised certification courses, ensuring everyone can find an adventure that suits their level.

Our guest services team is ready to help you book your next underwater experience. Dive into a world of discovery and let the Cook Islands’ hidden treasures create memories you’ll never forget.
