Earth Hour: A Symbol of Our Commitment

Join us for Earth Hour where you will be part of the global movement to bring awareness to climate change. At Pacific Resort Hotel Group, we dim the non-essential lights for an hour, taking part in this impactful tradition. But our commitment doesn’t stop there; we go beyond the hour by hosting enchanting candlelit dinners and fostering engaging discussions on sustainability.

Caring for Our Community: A Commitment to Giving Back

Pacific Resort Hotel Group believes in giving back to our community. We’re actively engaged in various local charities and initiatives, such as supporting the Muri Environmental Community with stream cleanings, and being active members of the Red Cross Cook Islands and the Cook Island Fire Brigade. We also support the Miss Cook Islands pageant, Autism Cook Islands, and have a partnership with SPCA Cook Islands. When you visit our paradise, you can contribute too by supporting local artisans, visiting the SPCA, using reef safe sunscreen, and participating in local tourism activities that promote the Cook Islands culture.

Protecting Our Environment

In our quest for sustainability, waste is not just a by-product; it’s an opportunity. We have been able to reduce our landfill waste by over 50% by introducing efficient recycling practises. All our staff are committed to this and undertake regular training to ensure we are maintaining the highest standards. Refillable bathroom amenities, surplus hotel items gifted to charities, local schools, and organizations and UV treated water stations to reduce single-use plastic bottles have all contributed to our reduction of waste.

Our Commitment to Our People and Culture

When you visit, we invite you to celebrate in the vibrant Cook Islands culture. Our commitment to our people and culture is evident in every aspect of our operation. We prioritise employing locally, offering ongoing educational opportunities, and fostering an environment of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Our events like Miss Cook Islands, Red Cross Cook Islands,  Autism Cook Islands, and the BSP Christmas giving tree spread joy across our islands. Our ground-breaking Leadership Programme with Cook Islands Tourism and Air New Zealand offers individuals a chance to develop their leadership skills and forge a successful career in our vibrant tourism industry.  Read more here
