International Women’s Day began in 1909 with the goal of promoting peace and women’s rights. Over time, it has grown into a global celebration of equality for all genders. The 2023 theme, Embrace Equality, continues to highlight this mission.

Women of the Cook Islands

Women here have long shaped the nation, equipping themselves through education and courageous leadership. Organisations such as the Cook Islands Business and Professional Women’s Association champion these efforts. They uplift women across industries, offering workshops, development opportunities, and community support. As a result, Cook Islands women continue to inspire future generations.
